Schedule Your Massage

Thai Massage is known as "assisted" or "lazy man’s" yoga because it’s similar to yoga, but is performed by the therapist for the client.  Thai massage is performed fully clothed on a mat on the floor and utilizes rhythmic compression, acupressure, and full body stretches.  Thai massage has been practiced for thousands of years, and today’s practice is a combination of influences from Indian, Chinese, and Southeast Asian cultural spheres and is especially good for increasing range of motion in the body.  Those who dislike stretching and yoga but want the benefits of those practices, who find rhythmic compression calming, or who are just looking to try something new should consider receiving a Thai massage.

Why Thai massage for runners?

  • It’s great for increasing your range of motion.  Thai massage addresses both muscles and joints, but includes more stretching than an East to West massage or an Ashiatsu massage, and stretching is widely known to improve range of motion and ease of movement.
  • It’s all about the joints.  A Thai massage addresses nearly all of your joints, from your metacarpals to your spine and hip joints and allows for the most relaxing full body stretches that are only possible with a partner.  Joint mobility and health is especially important for runners as significant stress is put on the joints of your lower body.
  • It’s perfect for increasing flexibility.  Consider a Thai massage a Functional Flexibility class that you get to lay down for.  Increased flexibility means increased muscle and joint function, which is the focus during a Thai massage.
