The Power of the Giraffe is a local non profit and is a 100% volunteer organization that provides support to cancer patients. We provide care packages in the form of baskets to patients going through cancer treatments. (Chemo, radiation etc.) We also provide financial support to patients in need to help with prescriptions, co-pays or other bills. We currently provide baskets to the patients at Alton Oncology and Infusion Center at Alton Memorial BJC, at the Cancer and Radiation Center at OSF St. Anthony’s, at Anderson Hospital’s Warren Bilhartz Cancer Center, at St. Louis University Hospital Radiation and Oncology units and Siteman Cancer Center. We also provide stuffed giraffes for children receiving treatments at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Costas Center and Women and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Stick your neck out and help us help others. The Power of the Giraffe is established in honor of Carol Alcorn. Share our story and when you see a giraffe, think of Carol.
