There comes a time where you have to step out the door into the cold rain to start your run. My first attempt at this was pathetic. Snoozed my alarm three times, contemplated giving up running all together, sat and looked out my window, then finally made the move to get dressed. Once I set foot in the first puddle, the water seemed to be part of me. It is the starting something new that is never easy. But once you start, you are that much closer to the finish line.
This holiday season, start something new. It can be as easy as starting a new family tradition, running longer than a 5K, or beginning that training program you keep putting off. End this year with a start and see where it takes you.
There is no time like the present! Or in this case, giving a present. Check out the FLEET FEET ultimate gift that we are offering this year, the training team, the racing team and all the wonderful things that you can be involved in. The holidays are about being with family, and we want you to be a part of ours.
I am excited to begin my "something new" with
the FLEET FEET family. I look forward to starting this new journey
and meeting all of you in the running world!
Keep Running,
Rachel Schroeder

Unlock the Perfect Gift for the runner in your life.
When searching for that perfect gift, you are looking for a perfect fit. At FLEET FEET, our Fitlosophy is that a comfortable, enjoyable running experience requires equipment that meets each runner’s individual needs. Since runners come in all shapes, sizes and gait styles, it can be difficult to purchase a gift that will best serve those needs.
Gift-givers, have no fear! The new FLEET FEET Key to Comfort is an all-inclusive, customized gift package providing comfort for many months to come. Each Key to Comfort comes with a unique running-themed key ring and a card detailing the many gifts. At their convenience, they may redeem their key at any FLEET FEET St. Louis store. Each key ring is placed in a “no wrapping necessary” gift box, complete with ribbon, bow and “To/From” card.
Women keyholders will receive a professionally-fitted pair of shoes, a pair of foot-pampering socks, a sports bra (fitting available, if requested), a FLEET FEET headband and a $30 Gift Card (for any comfort-enhancing extras)! Men keyholders will receive professionally-fitted pair of shoes, a pair of foot-coddling socks, a FLEET FEET runner's hat and a $30 Gift Card to spend on those little extras!

They are available online and at all of the FLEET FEET St. Louis locations: Chesterfield, Fenton and St. Charles. The price of the women’s Key to Comfort is $189.99; men’s $159.99. Sales are limited to two keys per customer. Fitted shoes will be limited to in-stock styles.
The sixth generation shoe has it all!
At FLEET FEET Sports, our primary goal is to help runners and walkers remain injury-free so they can both enjoy and benefit from their workouts. Our ability to meet that goal begins well before the customer enters one of our stores. It begins when we select the items that we choose to sell.
When considering whether or not a trail running shoe will serve our customers well, we look for six specific features that make a shoe appropriate for regular use on the trails:
Stone Bruise Deflector – a semi-rigid plate under the forefoot that shields the foot from sharp rocks and stumps.
Toe Bumper – a reinforced toebox that reduces the liklihood of toe breakage when a rock or stump is accidentally kicked.
High-Traction Outersole – an outersole that is specifically designed to provide exceptional traction on a variety of surfaces and grades.
Stable Midsole – a midsole that reduces the likelihood of rolled ankles.
Gusseted-Tongue – an anchored tongue that helps keep debris from entering the shoe.
Moisture Management – an upper that helps keep the foot dry, either by keeping water out in the first place or by using materials that dry quickly after they get wet.
The completely redesigned Asics Gel-Trail Attack
(now in its sixth generation) is a rarity. It has all six
trail-specific features and sells for a very reasonable $84.99. Of
particular interest to the avid trail runner will be the Trail
Attack’s unique outersole design. It has soft, grabby lugs from heel
to toe (without ignoring the important midfoot area), angled forward
and backward. The result is exceptional traction both when climbing
and descending, whether the trail is dry rock or mud. The midsole’s
low center-of-gravity both improves stability and contributes to the
Trail Attack’s light weight. Keeping the shoe lighter is also why
Asics chose to build the upper using quick drying materials, rather
than heavier, water-resistant/proof materials.
Running on uneven, often wet terrain creates a
lot of foot movement within the shoe – and that movement can lead to
blisters. Recently, two of the blister-reducing features that we
look for in a trail shoe – water and debris management – have made
their way into trail-specific socks. The Drymax Trail Running
Quarter Crew is sewn from a fabric that has been proven to dry
quicker than any other sock material on the market – and the fabric
is sewn thicker in two key locations of the specially designed ankle
to help keep trail debris from entering both the sock and the shoe.
Price: $11.50 per pair.
Men's and Women's Asics Trail Attack and Drymax Trail Running Quarter Crew are available online and at all FLEET FEET St. Louis locations: Chesterfield, Fenton and St. Charles.
Try out your new gear at the annual Fleet Feet Running Club trail run on Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. on the Lost Valley terrain.

The entire FLEET FEET staff would like to thank our customers for giving us the opportunity to serve you.
Hi, my name is Dave Slayden and I am the new president of the FLEET FEET
Runners Club. I have been a member for three years and I am very excited
for this new opportunity to be more involved.
I would like to invite everyone out to experience the FLEET FEET Runners Club. This is a great group of runners that gather together every Saturday morning to run and host fun social events throughout the year like the Flat Five race, an Ice Cream Social Run, the Pancake run, spring and fall fashion shows and a year-end Christmas party...just to name a few.
We also support different local charities and try our best to give back to the running community. As an avid runner and cyclist, I have found a great sense of friendship and support in this group.
Come check us out any Saturday or online and see how much fun you can have running with the FLEET FEET Runners Club!
