June 10th, 2009: FLEET FEET Flyer # 39

Welcome, Friends!

Wedged between the barbecue feasts of Memorial Day weekend and the fireworks display of the Fourth of July, there is Father's Day. And if you're like me, Father's Day always presents a challenge in finding just the right gift for Dad. Want a gift Dad can use day in and day out? Stop by the store. From a new running shirt to a runner's "care package," we can help you find what you need to show Dad just how much you love him. (Tip: We've included below a Brooks apparel cheat sheet to make finding the right piece that much easier.)

And in other exciting news: Lewis and Clark Marathon and Half Marathon course maps are now online! Check out the route and get revved up for the big day.

Happy running!

Sincerely,
Your Friends at FLEET FEET St. Louis

Favorite Race Tee Contest

Your favorite race tee could earn you FLEET FEET fame-- and some free swag.

T-Shirt ContestC'mon. We all know it's true. The real reason runners enter races?

The free t-shirt.

Okay, so maybe the free shirt isn't the only reason we are forever filling out entry forms and setting our alarms early on weekends, but it is certainly a perk. Whether it represents a 5K or a marathon, the race t-shirt is a badge of honor worth every minute standing in line at the packet pick-up.

This week, we'd like to honor the race t-shirt. From now until Sunday, June 14th, FLEET FEET will hold its first ever Favorite Race Tee Contest! Dig through your closet, pull out your favorite race tee, and bring it to any of our FLEET FEET St. Louis locations for a chance to win a FLEET FEET logo top-- and the distinction of having one of the best race t-shirts in St. Louis.

FLEET FEET's Favorite Race Tee Contest will be held from June 10th through June 14th at all FLEET FEET St. Louis locations. To enter, simply bring in your favorite race tee and fill out a form with your contact information. Then leave the tee with us (we promise to take good care of it), so we can display your t-shirt at the store! (T-shirts can be picked up beginning Monday, June 15th, through Sunday, June 21st.)

There are three chances to win! Tees will be judged for the "Most Unique Tee" and the "Most Loved Tee." There will also be a winner selected by a raffle drawing. All winners will receive a FLEET FEET logo top of their choice and will be recognized in the next FLEET FEET Flyer.

One entry per customer. Winners will be contacted via phone and email. Entered t-shirts can be picked up June 15th through June 21st. All shirts not picked up by June 21st will be donated to charity.

It's time your favorite race tee got the recognition it deserves!

Father's Day Gift? Go Brooks!

Forget the tie. This year, go high-performance with Brooks running gear.
Father's Day gift

Dad wants something he can use. And while backscratchers and coaster sets are Father's Day staples, we have a feeling you want to step it up a bit. So, what to give the dad who has it all?
Whether Dad is a die-hard runner or simply enjoys the occasional trip to the gym, Brooks has the technical apparel that meets the demands of both style and function, featuring a variety of styles to accommodate all of Dad's activities. Give a gift from one of the running industry's most respected and established names. (It's way cooler than a backscratcher.)

Each Brooks piece features patented moisture-wicking technology and modern fit, melding style and practicality with ease. There is a wide selection of styles to fit the needs of every runner from the serious racer to the casual jogger.

Rev Pacer ($31.99) and the Sherpa Short II ($35.99): Mid-length shorts appropriate for both training runs and race day.

Brooks Element ShortElement Short ($35.99): A short made for race day and those hot summer speed workouts, featuring a shorter length and a half-split for freedom of movement during fast-pace runs.

Transport 9" Short ($39.99): The short for those who just can't find a running short long enough. The 9" inseam gives you the length you want while still providing the lightweight fabric you need.

Brooks Rev TREV T ($35.99) and the REV Trainer ($31.99): Ideal for those who want a super-soft feel in a moisture-wicking fabric. Both tops offer flat-seam, chafe-free construction.

Transport T ($35.99): For that easy transition from the road to the gym, boasting lightweight fabric and accents (instead of seam splices) to reduce any chance of irritation.

Brooks transport TThe Brooks men's apparel line is available at FLEET FEET Chesterfield, FLEET FEET Fenton, and FLEET FEET St. Charles. It is also available at our online store.

Ladies, looking for some Brooks apparel of your own? Check out Brooks line of running gear for women. With shorts, skirts, and tops galore, you're certain to find just what you need for your summer training. Brooks women's apparel is available at all three FLEET FEET St. Louis locations and at our online store.

Still not sure what to get Dad? A FLEET FEET gift card is a fail-safe way to ensure Dad gets just what he wants!

L&C Half Marathon Training Team

Lewis and Clark didn't have to cover the distance on their own. Why should you?
FFTT

President Jefferson commissioned the Corps of Discovery because he knew this fundamental truth: A team can help you reach your goal.

It's your very own Corps of Discovery to run with you, support you, and motivate you every step of the way. Who knew training for a half marathon could be this much fun!

The Lewis and Clark Half Marathon Team begins June 20th. Training Team group long runs take place on Saturday mornings at various St. Louis premier running routes. Optional group workouts will be on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings, coinciding with the FLEET FEET Summer Speedwork sessions.
